Theft Prevention

Please avoid leaving packages unattended in collection areas. If you are mailing money, gift cards or valuable items, please use your local post office or FedEx/UPS store to ensure your package is delivered in a secure manner. The Ballantyne Post Office is located at 8240 Ballantyne Commons Parkway.

Additionally, to lower the risk of a vehicle break-in, see the tips below.
  1. Keep vehicles locked and all valuables hidden. Don’t make it easy for a thief to break in or reach in and take anything of value! Make it a habit to double-check that your doors are locked, and your windows are closed when parking your vehicle. Avoid keeping valuables in your car at all. If you must leave something important in your car, put it in your trunk before you reach your destination.
  2. Don’t leave your car running. It can be tempting to leave your car running when you’re just popping in and out of the store, but this also makes it easy for a thief to hop in and drive away.
  3. Park in well-lit areas. If you’re parking your car somewhere after the sun has gone down, try to find a spot underneath a streetlight that’s well-lit and well-trafficked. Thieves may be less likely to rummage through a car with a spotlight on them and a potential audience just around the corner.
  4. Report Suspicious activity to Police via 911 and Security at 704.648.8200.
